In "Knick-Knacks and Doodads," Sam starts to connect with her Choir Practice friends, but her growing relationship with Joel is jeopardized by differing views on their future in Kansas. Following an unsatisfactory job evaluation and a troubling trip to her parents' home, Sam becomes increasingly upset and turns to a close confidant of Holly for support.
