Ned's deceit is uncovered by Dr. Gordon, prompting him to flee. While on the run, he comes across a drifter abusing a circus pony. After stepping in to help, the pony takes a liking to him, but soon Rundle accuses Ned of stealing it. Tensions rise as the situation spirals, but everything is resolved when Ned proves his bravery by saving Squire Armstrong's niece.
