S02E05 The Posse That Wouldn't Quit
Episode Overview
After weeks of being pursued by a posse, Heyes and the Kid find refuge at a humble ranch owned by a kind but struggling family. The two daughters quickly idolize the pair, and the men grow fond of the entire family. When the posse finally arrives, demanding the fugitives surrender, Heyes cleverly proposes that the family claim the bounty instead. Reluctantly, the posse agrees, but their leader sticks close. However, on the way to the sheriff's office, the daughters launch a surprise attack on the posse, allowing Heyes and the Kid to escape. Yet, concerned for the family's safety, they decide to return. The challenge now is how to avoid jail time if they reveal their true identities to the judge.
