Episode Overview
John Hallam takes a break from duty to attend counseling following his accident in the previous season. Meanwhile, Nick, George, Kevin, and Colin are busy inspecting a shopping mall for fire safety measures. Claire faces a visit from Bayleaf's ex-wife, Karen, who wants to take their daughter, Melanie, away, but the girl prefers to stay with her father. Karen threatens to pursue custody in court against Mike. A number of fire trucks respond to smoke coming from a tunnel, only to discover a homeless man frying sausages. Paul persuades Jean and Sicknote to join a production of Shakespeare's Richard III, while Malcolm treats Helen to a shopping day, and George and Colin win goldfish at a fair. Later, George, Kevin, and Bayleaf meet Recall and his family at the airport after their trip to Disneyworld, where Recall brings back a plastic fireman as a new mascot. When Hallam returns, he is surprised by the pond and mascot in front of the fire station
