Jonesy is taken aback when Donna reveals that the St. David's police were behind the plot to kill Hugo Allen. As he delves into the investigation discreetly, he discovers that the authorities have been neglecting Allen's case. When Amy learns about his snooping, he persuades Donna to explain things to her. Donna admits that Louis Chang, the owner of a restaurant in St. David's, operates an illegal casino and that she worked as a call girl there. She was with Hugo when he got into trouble with Chang, who then enlisted his police connections to arrange Hugo's murder. Donna had a phone with photos of the casino, but it was stolen during the break-in at Jonesy's place. Though Amy believes Donna's account, she decides to keep it from Tom, suspecting he might be involved in the corruption.
