In Mt. Thomas, a chilling turn of events unfolds as a second body is discovered, mirroring the brutal circumstances of the first, complete with a crucifix nearby. It becomes evident that a serial killer is on the loose. PJ and Amy collaborate with Garth to investigate a masseuse linked to both victims, but their lead hits a snag when a third body is uncovered, providing the masseuse with an alibi. This new victim is male, complicating the detectives' understanding of the case and forcing them to reassess everything from the beginning. Meanwhile, recently promoted Senior Constable Susie navigates the tension with Jonesy, who feels envious of her advancement, and Joss and Kelly are drawn into a case involving a child and a dog with suspicious burn injuries at the local veterinary clinic.
