Episode Overview

Maggie and PJ find themselves tangled in a string of thefts that appear to be linked to the school where Susan, Tom's daughter, is working as a substitute teacher. PJ has meticulously examined every connection among the burglary victims. After ruling out the Juicy Rooster chicken delivery man, he turns his attention to the school. Susan is overwhelmed with students, including Chloe Bassetti, who pilfered valuable coins from her desk in an attempt to sell them. PJ suspects that an assignment Susan gave was meant to uncover information about where valuables are stored. Although Susan is frustrated to be a suspect—especially given her rocky history—the Heelers remain skeptical. Ultimately, she reveals that the assignment was actually devised by the school's principal, Guy Ashfield, known for his gambling issues and a history of embezzlement. Guy insists on his innocence, but when a locket linked to a recent burglary is discovered, doubts about his claims arise.
