A fresh lawyer comes to Stuckeyville, stirring up trouble by pushing neighbors to file lawsuits against each other. In response, Ed devises a clever plan to reunite the community. Meanwhile, Carol encourages Molly to run for principal at Stuckeyville High since Dennis has moved to Minneapolis for a teaching job. Mike is gearing up to claim Ed's title as the Stuckeyville Recliner Rally champion. Motivated by Mark's forthcoming surgery, Phil teams up with Eli to become the "Jared" of a nearby sandwich shop.
