Carol grapples with the decision of whether to take revenge on Rich Keenan for his cruel prank on Molly by posting a negative review of his restaurant in the "Stuckeyville Progress." Ultimately, she honestly dislikes the food and pens a harsh critique, which leads Rich to sue her for damaging his establishment. Ed and Frankie step in to defend her in a bench trial overseen by a judge who isn't fond of Ed but remains impartial. Carol wins the case, but not without facing the consequences of a secret that comes out during the trial. Meanwhile, Phil’s misguided attempt to attract a younger crowd to Stuckeybowl leads to the ill-fated idea of "Extreme Bowling," which Ed quickly shuts down to prevent disaster. Molly finds herself at a loss on how to support a socially awkward boy facing bullying until she hatches a clever plan to boost his popularity, igniting some unexpected chemistry between her and his single father.
