Following a chaotic meeting with the wedding planner, Carol contemplates the idea of eloping with Ed. Meanwhile, Ed feels regret after advising Mr. Mazula on a prenuptial agreement. Nancy and Mike decide it's time for Mike to take the lead in household decisions, including organizing the engagement party for Ed and Carol. As Carol races against time and grapples with writer's block for three novel chapters to impress a literary agent, Mike falters over magazine subscriptions, prompting Nancy to step in and handle the engagement party. With Molly's encouragement, Carol realizes that her cautious approach is hindering both her writing and wedding plans, prompting her to confront her fears and clear the path ahead.
