What begins as a small disturbance soon escalates into a significant conflict. The United States first sent "military advisors" to Vietnam following the Dien Bien Phu attack. This initial support gradually evolved into "non-official combat missions." The situation took a dramatic turn after a North Vietnamese patrol boat launched an unprovoked torpedo strike on the unsuspecting U.S. destroyer Maddox, ultimately marking the start of what would be known as "The Undeclared War."
