Masters starts his new position at Memorial Hospital, but under Betty's coercive conditions, he learns that his supervisor wants him to leave Virginia behind for a chosen secretary. At the same time, Johnson struggles with the dilemma of urging Masters to bring Virginia back while also wanting to be there for DePaul as her health declines.
