Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990)

Episode Overview

Venice is facing a crisis as its residents flee due to severe pollution and a thick smog impacting both the environment and buildings. Compounding the issue is a large group of mutated rats, whose bites lead to illness. The Planeteers arrive and meet Resa, a pathologist who is desperately searching for a cure for the disease afflicting her young relative, Pietre. They uncover evidence pointing to Verminous Skumm’s involvement. The situation escalates when Ma-Ti is bitten and suffers greatly, revealing that Skumm has tainted processed cheese with a substance that infects both the rats and their victims with contaminated canal water. Now, they must find a remedy for those affected and put a stop to the rat plague.
