The highly anticipated CrimeCon is back in Grimsburg, drawing attention to notorious criminals rather than the detectives who pursue them. Flute takes it upon himself to expose Damien Flesher, a notorious criminal who claims to have turned over a new leaf. Meanwhile, while supervising his students at ConCon, Pentos finds himself grappling with his own identity. He encounters the Pentos-tonix, a Pentos-themed a cappella group, and must demonstrate that he still possesses the cunning and charm that made him a figure of admiration in their eyes.
