Title: An Autumn Shroud Plot: As the joyful sounds of wedding bells fill the air, Peter Pascoe finally ties the knot with Ellie. With the newlyweds embarking on their honeymoon, Detective Superintendent Andy Dalziel finds himself devoid of his usual targets for mockery. Drawn to the picturesque setting of Lincolnshire, where the wedding took place, Dalziel decides to take a holiday of his own. However, trouble finds him once again when he encounters a flooded road and a stranded vehicle, leading to an unexpected rescue by a funeral procession. The deceased, Conrad Fielding, has a stunning widow named Bonnie who offers Dalziel shelter until his car is repaired, but the atmosphere at the Fielding family's beautiful yet financially troubled Lake House is anything but tranquil.
