Fredriksen stays on the island, serving as the royal court's inventor. Meanwhile, Moominpapa takes the helm of the ship and sets out to establish a new colony. A ghost attempts to spook the inhabitants but fails miserably. It’s only with Fredriksen’s support that the ghost manages to restore its lost confidence.
