However, when Dr. Steven Molstad places a small device in her brain, her life bursts into vivid color. For the first time, she experiences joy, love, and even fear. Enthralled by these newfound feelings, she bonds with Molstad's assistant, Joan Garrison, and develops a crush on Joan's landlord, Kevin Flynn. Yet, odd occurrences start to surface; Beth hears unsettling voices and is suddenly kidnapped by aliens, only to wake up back in the hospital. Is her mind struggling with the influx of emotions, is the implant malfunctioning, or is there something darker at play?
