In Victorian London, a series of murders targeting prostitutes has the police on high alert, with the culprit being labeled "Jack the Ripper." John C.V. York (Cary Elwes) emerges as a prime suspect. Once a respected physician, he fell into addiction to absinthe and laudanum after a tragic misdiagnosis led to the death of a duke's daughter. Despite his downfall, he still holds ties to high society, largely due to the unwavering affection of Lady Ellen Chamberlain (Clare Sims), who dreams of marrying him. However, his frequent visits to the crime-ridden area and his medical expertise raise troubling questions about his involvement in the gruesome acts.
