Two decades ago, Gideon Banks faced a devastating loss when his wife Liz and son Simon were killed in a tragic car accident. At the time, he was part of a groundbreaking initiative known as the Neural Archiving Project (NAP), aimed at transferring human memories to advanced computers. Although the project was ultimately abandoned, Gideon persevered in his research. After years of clandestine work, he crafted a small robot using components he pilfered from Concorde Robotics, where he is employed. When his niece Zoe uncovers his secret, she learns that the robot is imbued with Simon’s neural engrams, raising concerns for both her uncle and the machine that eerily resembles her late cousin.
