Episode Overview

Raintree, a thoroughbred horse farm, faces a tough future after its owner, Pete, abandoned the Ritter family with substantial debt. Jean Ritter is determined to keep the farm in the family instead of selling it to the affluent Ken Davis. With the help of her skilled horse trainer, Pablo Betart, she hires Kris (Ten) Furillo, who needs the position to persuade a judge to lift her detention for car theft and resisting arrest. Kris quickly impresses everyone, including the perceptive Todd Ritter and his friend Kenny 'Junior' Davis. However, after their top horse finishes fourth in an important race, Jean begins to worry about their financial stability.
