The Challenge (1998)

Episode Overview

James, the enthusiastic new engine, is tasked with pulling a set of coaches alongside Edward's guidance. They manage to work well together, but in his eagerness, James splashes water all over the Fat Controller's freshly polished top hat! Later, while hauling another set of coaches, he collides with them too roughly, resulting in a broken brake pipe. Although a newspaper and a leather shoelace can provide a quick fix, it will require the cooperation of a passenger willing to part with their laces for the train to move on.
