Thomas and the narrow gauge engines are on a mission to gather gifts for Mr. Percival's birthday celebration. Sir Handel plans to share his tale of the 'Mystery of the Hills' with everyone. He describes a mysterious figure who is said to be white and has never been discovered. Eager to uncover the truth, Thomas embarks on a quest, mistakenly believing the figure might be a baker or a miller. After returning to help with Mr. Percival's cake, he sends Freddie off to look for the 'Mystery'. Ultimately, Thomas discovers that the figure is actually a carving on a hillside. As the guests gather for the party, Sir Handel recounts his intriguing story about the 'Mystery of the Hills'.
