When a 9-year-old boy runs away and appears on the Sanfords' land, Fred is initially opposed to having a child around, fearing the chaos it might bring. However, he soon softens towards the boy, revealing a kinder side beneath his tough demeanor. Taking the initiative, Fred decides to help the young runaway learn to value the comforts and stability of home.
