The Pillars of the Earth (2010)

Episode Overview

Malloy and Reed are called in to help the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department transport a prisoner from Malibu to Los Angeles due to some outstanding traffic warrants. During their journey, the prisoner discloses he is a key witness in a mob murder and has a hit out on him. Their vehicle is ambushed on a secluded road, resulting in a tire being shot and a crash that leaves them out of radio contact. While trying to call for help, Reed is taken hostage by the hitmen. Meanwhile, Malloy and the prisoner manage to commandeer the hitmen's vehicle to find a phone. The LAPD dispatches a helicopter to locate Reed, who ultimately manages to overpower his captors and is rescued.
