The Pillars of the Earth (2010)

Episode Overview

Malloy's former landlady, Mrs. O'Brien, has her handbag taken and insists on staying at the station until her case is resolved. Frustrated, she begins to pester the detectives and even organizes a picket line to express her grievances. Malloy uncovers a link between her theft and a series of purse snatchings tied to social security checks, leading to a decoy operation that ultimately dismantles the theft ring. The investigation involves two dubious men and a chase with them, along with a homicide where candy wrappers and tire tracks from the suspects are discovered.
