In the midst of the Great Depression in Chicago, barfly Murphy unknowingly dodges several assassination attempts by his so-called friends, who are eager to collect on his life insurance policy. Despite their efforts to eliminate him—through poison, harsh weather, and even being hit by a car—Iron Murphy remains unfazed, proving to be remarkably resilient against threats that would typically endanger an ordinary person.
