After facing numerous setbacks from his subordinates, Cardinal Richelieu has enlisted Milady to ensure that Juliette cannot facilitate a meeting between the Duke of Buckingham and Queen Anne. Meanwhile, Juliette is evading the Cardinal's guards when she unexpectedly encounters Planchet and Sandy, using Sandy as a means of escape. Nearby, Milady overhears Planchet and Dogtanian discussing the situation while she waits in her coach. Seizing the opportunity, she entices Dogtanian to follow her into her home.
