Bilko receives a diary from his aunt that reveals his great uncle Joshua served on George Washington's staff. Inspired, he decides to apply for an officer position. However, as he reads further, he learns that Joshua was actually a traitor. Keeping this revelation to himself, Bilko ultimately decides to retract his application.
