In the late 19th century, paleontologists in Nebraska unearthed massive, spiral formations of hardened sand embedded deep in the ground. The local ranchers referred to these peculiar structures as Devil's Corkscrews, while scientists named them Daemonelix. It was evident that these twisted shapes were the result of some kind of living organism, but the question remained: what could have created them?
