A crucial witness in a video piracy investigation finds himself under threat, prompting him to reach out to Val for help. She dispatches V.I.P., who arrive just in time, but the attackers manage to slip away. Steve Wizner, the witness, was meant to be under constant FBI protection, but they are mysteriously absent. Once at Steve's home, the two agents are present, and he decides to appoint V.I.P. as his bodyguards, ensuring Val stays close. While the agents wait outside, Val and Steve relax in the hot tub, but their moment of peace is shattered when a housekeeper enters and fatally shoots Steve. Agent Lampert warns Val that she's now in danger because of what Steve knew. Meanwhile, it’s revealed that Agent Lampert has been bribing the housekeeper, Helga, who committed the murder.
