Episode Overview

After Paul Sampson kills his wife, Caroline, he feels a sense of relief when the authorities deem her death an accident. However, guilt soon overwhelms him, prompting him to reveal the truth to his family and friends. Sadly, they dismiss his confession, believing he’s just struggling with the grief of losing her. Desperate, Paul confides in a friend who happens to be a judge, only to learn that the judge was secretly involved with Caroline. Aware of Paul's torment, the judge opts to keep quiet. As Paul’s insistence on confessing escalates, his family ultimately commits him to a mental institution.
