John Chambers pens a relationship advice column under the alias Uncle George. His world shatters when a neighbor, Mrs. Weatherby, unknowingly writes to the column seeking guidance about his wife's infidelity. Enraged, Chambers murders his wife and frames her lover for the crime. When the police disclose the affair, Chambers feigns surprise, convincing them of his innocence due to a lack of motive. Just as he seems to evade capture, Mrs. Weatherby reveals to the authorities that she had sent a letter to Uncle George, unraveling his deception.
