The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962)
S01E06 Final Vow
Episode Overview
Title: Final Vow Plot: Sister Pamela faces a profound inner conflict just before her final vows, questioning the authenticity of her faith and whether she's been using it as an escape from reality. To allow her some reflection, the nuns suggest she retrieve a precious statue from a former gangster. However, on her way back, a young thief named Jimmy Bresson snatches the statue. Determined to reclaim it, Pamela leaves the convent and tracks down Jimmy, setting up a date to access his apartment. She soon learns he has pawned the statue and rushes to the shop with the pawn ticket. Just as she's about to retrieve it, Jimmy confronts her. He and the untrustworthy pawn shop owner plot to eliminate Pamela, but their plans take a turn when the appraiser arrives—it's the same man who had previously offered the statue to the convent. He informs them that the statue holds no value, ultimately persuading them to release Pamela.
