Title: The Deception of Adelaide Winters Plot: As World War II nears its conclusion, a fraudulent medium, Adelaide Winters, exploits mourning families of fallen soldiers by falsely claiming to connect with their spirits. When she encounters affluent widower Edward Porter, who is devastated by the loss of his son in combat, she persuades him to attend one of her seances. Hesitant at first, Edward gradually becomes convinced of Adelaide's abilities. In time, he proposes to her, believing it will unite them with his son. Although Adelaide agrees to marry him, their honeymoon takes an unexpected turn, revealing the truth behind her deceit.
