Episode Overview
Glendon Baker, a bedridden patient, relies on the care of his nurse, Stella Crosson. Stella feels relieved when another nurse, Betty Ames, arrives to help her. The only other occupants in the home are the housekeeper, Maude, and her handyman husband, Sam. Tension rises for Stella when she learns of a nurse killer in the vicinity, and her anxiety deepens when the power goes out. As a patient's oxygen supply dwindles, she sends Sam to fetch more. Becoming increasingly paranoid, Stella secures all the windows, forgetting the one in the basement. Later, she spots a man outside and panics at a knock on the door, failing to realize it's Sam trying to return. Instead of answering, she rushes to the phone but diverts to the lounge, where she finds Nurse Ames seemingly attacked—only to be confronted by Ames, who then turns on her.
