Dr. Williams informs Ackerman that only by inducing psychosis can they ensure Mary’s swift progress in her treatment. During a heartwarming reunion, Mary shares a marble swirl cake with her Fernwood Receiving family. Meanwhile, Merle meets with Commissioner Rittenhouse to discuss tax-exempt status for the Condos for Christ property, but Rittenhouse demands a bribe. Loretta tries to explain to Merle why their communication must cease. Mary, Wanda, and Nurse Gimble discuss their spouses, and Mary observes another injury on Nurse Gimble.
