Michael Palin's New Europe (2007)

Episode Overview

Michael embarks on an incredible journey to Göreme, a place where the landscape is sculpted into homes and contains some of the most impressive churches from the early days of Christianity. Departing from the Cappadocia region in a hot air balloon, he drifts eastward toward the frontiers of New Europe, which, if Turkey were to become a member of the European Union, would encompass Iran, Iraq, and Syria.
