Episode Overview

On February 25, 2009, Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 approaches Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam but tragically stalls and crashes just 1.5 kilometers from the runway. The incident results in the loss of nine lives, including all three members of the cockpit crew. The crash is attributed to a malfunctioning radar altimeter, which caused the flight control computer to prematurely decrease engine thrust. Unfortunately, the flight crew did not detect the subsequent decrease in airspeed until it was too late to react.
