Episode Overview
On February 19, 1985, China Airlines Flight 006 experienced a critical failure when its right-side outer engine caught fire. In an attempt to restart the engine, the Boeing 747SP stalled and began to spin uncontrollably. The skilled crew managed to regain control, successfully restart the engine, and ultimately land the aircraft safely at San Francisco International Airport. The incident was attributed to pilot error. Alternate title: "6 Mile Plunge"
