Episode Overview

After a prominent researcher in prosthetics is discovered dead, Neil receives an anonymous message claiming the "Synthetics," beings tied to Dr. Chandra's "Sentients," are responsible for the murder. The email warns that they are now targeting the researcher's young niece, Stevie, due to a "cybiotic interface" he was developing to connect computers with biological systems. When they speak to Stevie's teacher, they learn the girl is deaf and has a cochlear implant that her uncle had been modifying. The team eventually tracks down Stevie, only to uncover that her implant enables her to control a swarm of insects equipped with cybiotic interface chips. Meanwhile, shadowy figures, possibly Synthetics, are closing in on Kurt's location, where Stevie is hiding.
