Stella comes to the painful conclusion that the estate no longer needs her, and with the bank preparing to move her to a new position, she resorts to sabotaging everything in a desperate bid to stay at Glenbogle. When Archie finds out about her actions, she confesses her love for him and her fear of leaving, but recognizes that her choices have sealed her fate. Just in time, Lexie rallies everyone to ensure the estate's operations satisfy the bank. Embarrassed, Stella departs, leaving Archie to confront his feelings for Lexie. He quickly proposes, and though Lexie hesitates at the thought of transitioning from cook to Laird's wife, he slips a ring onto her finger.
