Dolley Madison experienced the two pivotal wars that shaped the United States, forged friendships with the first twelve Presidents, and witnessed the country's transformation from a fledgling republic into the world's first modern democracy. Known as "Queen Dolley," she passed away in 1849 at the age of 81, one of the last figures from the founding era. In her honor, Washington City held the largest state funeral ever accorded to a woman in the capital's history. The role of Dolley Madison is portrayed by Tony Award-nominee Eve Best (Nurse Jackie), while Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays takes on the character of James Madison (I Am My Own Wife).
