Charlie develops a crush on Jen's alluring new business associate, Lori, portrayed by his actual ex, Denise Richards. However, he soon discovers that she views therapy as a joke. Meanwhile, in their therapy group, Patrick seeks Charlie’s help to communicate with the furious spirit of his mother, whom he suspects is haunting his home.
