In September 1944, the Allies embarked on a bold venture. The goal of landing in the Dutch provinces of Noord-Brabant and Gelderland was to facilitate a swift push into the Ruhr region. However, “Operation Market Garden” hinged on the flawless coordination of multiple elements: the successful deployment of tens of thousands of paratroopers behind enemy lines, the seizing of heavily fortified bridges, and the disabling of a top-tier German tank division. Unfortunately, the outcome of this daring mission fell short of expectations.
