Episode Overview

Following the attempted assassination of Canute, whispers circulate in York suggesting that the king is plotting against him. This creates a situation where the king finds himself unable to make any decisions that might endanger Canute, much to Askeladd's satisfaction as his scheme unfolds smoothly. However, the situation shifts dramatically when King Sweyn makes a statement of his own. Meanwhile, Thorfinn faces imprisonment as a consequence of his actions that disrupted the peace.
