Joan finds herself in a whirlwind romance with a well-known actor at a local bar, but her friends can't resist ribbing her when he only shares his pager number. Determined, she manages to extract his home phone number, but anxiety sets in when he doesn't return her calls right away. In a moment of desperation, she repeatedly dials his number, eager to show her friends his voicemail greeting. Meanwhile, Toni starts a relationship with a single dad and unexpectedly bonds with his young daughter. Maya cleverly uses her friends as an alibi to hang out with her "friend," Stan, while Lynn tries to steer clear of Vosco.
