Episode Overview
Joan is content in her relationship with Ellis until a chance encounter with a stranger during a downpour sparks a new connection. To her astonishment, the man turns out to be Brock, Ellis's agent. Their paths cross again outside a theater when Ellis is called away, leading to a passionate kiss and a visit to Brock's apartment, where they confess their feelings. Brock, however, hesitates to take things further, insisting Joan should end things with Ellis first. Just as she contemplates that, Ellis unexpectedly declares his love for her. Meanwhile, Sivad pressures Lynn to move out of William's home, although he later changes his mind about living with her. Toni grows frustrated with Todd's habits and leaves him after learning about his financial troubles, seeking solace at Joan's place. William struggles to get Maya to focus on her work as she spends her time lost in novels.
