Episode Overview
Toni is skeptical about Joan's assertion that she's fine spending Valentine's Day solo, and she relentlessly tries to lift her spirits. Following Joan to the cinema, she disrupts the audience with her loud commentary and spoiler alerts. Frustrated, Joan switches seats and unexpectedly encounters her old acquaintance, Davis. They enjoy a pleasant dinner, but Joan realizes she's not ready for a new romance. Meanwhile, Toni tells Todd they should skip gifts due to financial constraints but then reveals her splurge on $2800 boots. Todd feels hurt when Toni buys a present for Joan, prompting her to make amends. Elsewhere, William struggles to connect with Donna at the bus stop, but his attempt to send Lynn as an intermediary only scares her away. Eventually, he finds the courage to express his feelings directly.
