Episode Overview

Joan finds herself increasingly disenchanted with her legal career. William observes that she lacks the zeal necessary for success in their field. Her spirits lift while assisting with Lynn's apartment makeover. However, when Lynn returns some borrowed items, Joan is enraged to learn that Lynn never submitted her application to the Fashion Institute years ago. Joan had thought she was rejected, which led her to pursue law instead of design. Outraged, she confronts Lynn, blaming her for altering her life path. Sharing her frustrations with Sharon, Joan fears losing her job, but is unexpectedly promoted. Nonetheless, she realizes this achievement doesn't change her dissatisfaction and ultimately decides to resign. Meanwhile, Maya has her own developments.
