Episode Overview
On the Mississippi, a notorious pirate group called the "Thousand Eyes" is attacking ships. After Jim narrowly avoids an assassin, he encounters the gang's leader, Captain Ansel Coffin, who, despite being blind, is driven by a thirst for vengeance. The pirates use deceptive lights to steer vessels off course, causing them to crash and be looted. Jim is captured by Coffin but cleverly escapes from a cage connected to a lightning rod. During a confrontation, he is temporarily blinded by a flash of powder, giving him an unexpected advantage over Coffin, who has adjusted to his own blindness. In a twist of fate, Coffin accidentally kills his wife in the chaos. Fueled by rage, Jim regains his sight just in time to dodge Coffin, who then falls into a pit and meets his demise.
